Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Non-Exec Shortlisted for National Award

Hattie Llewelyn-Davies, Non-Executive Chair of Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT), has been shortlisted in the ‘not-for-profit’ category of the national Non Executive Director Awards.

The prestigious annual awards are presented to NEDs from both the public and private sectors for exceptional performance in their roles as the independent voices which challenge business practices and add value in terms of strategy, performance, human resources and risk management.

Hattie, who has an OBE for services to homeless people, was appointed to the HPFT Board in December 2004 and her current term of office expires in August 2013.  Her background is in social housing and the voluntary sector and she has been a successful independent consultant for the past 15 years providing services on governance, mergers and regulatory matters.

Tom Cahill, Chief Executive of Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) said: “Hattie demonstrates strategic vision, breadth and depth of financial expertise, superb communication skills and she is totally committed to high ethical standards and corporate governance.  As Chair of both our Board of Directors and Board of Governors she has made – and continues to make – an exceptional contribution to our organisation.”

This year’s NED awards, sponsored by city firm Peel Hunt, will be judged by a panel chaired by Sir John Parker, Chairman of National Grid and Anglo American.  Results will be announced in March and published in The Sunday Times which supports the awards.

The not-for-profit category, sponsored by Cranfield University School of Management, is for NEDs or Trustees who have a critical input into organisations such as foundation trusts, public bodies and academic institutions and the ability of these organisations to meet performance targets and statutory regulations and deliver excellence.
