Secure and Rehabilitation services

 

Secure and Rehabilitation Services cover a range of Services in Hertfordshire and Norfolk.  The senior management team for these services includes the Joint Heads of Service (a manager and a consultant psychiatrist), 4 Service Managers and a Service Development Manager.  They are responsible alongside the teams who deliver these services for providing the following health services to people with Mental Health needs and/or learning disability.

In Hertfordshire:

Residential Rehabilitation Services

These provide a range of community based short and medium to long term assessment and residential rehabilitation, for service users age 18-65 with enduring mental health and social care needs (9 units) and Learning Disability (1 unit).   They aim to prepare service users for independent or supported living in their local community.

Secure Services

Include a range of inpatient, in-reach and community based services:

Medium Secure inpatient services for People with Learning Disability are provided at the Eric Shepherd Unit, which also has a community step down facility.

The Community Forensic Mental Health Service and Offender Liaison Workers work in conjunction with community mental health teams across Hertfordshire to provide assessment, support and access to treatment services to those whose mental health problems are linked with offending behaviour.

The Prison In-Reach Team provides mental health services within HMP The Mount in Bovingdon.

Bed Management and Placement Service

On occasion, when local services in Hertfordshire don’t have capacity to offer service users the inpatient support they are assessed as requiring, services will be made available elsewhere.  This team are responsible for overseeing the placement of those people who need to go out of county, monitoring the quality of their care and ensuring their timely return to Hertfordshire based services or their local community.

In Norfolk:

In-patient Medium Secure Services and step down facilities are provided for men with learning disability at the Broadland Clinic, Little Plumstead, near Norwich. The Trust also provides Learning Disability Psychiatry which works alongside the Community Teams run by Norfolk Learning Difficulties Service.

Assessment & Treatment Services are provided for adults with learning disability at the Poplar Unit, Little Plumstead, near Norfolk.
